This community-wide event is sponsored by the Las Animas High School Student Council. For the past 92 years, on the last Friday in April, students and community members come together to pay tribute to our region’s rich history and western heritage.
The celebration includes a parade, the Frontier King Contest, the Santa Fe Trail Day Queen Contest, costume contests, a ranch burger lunch and traditional square dancing and awards ceremony. Pictured below are the high school candidates for King/Queen this year.
